We invite applications to the Center for Global Education's Global Perspectives Fund to support international activities in your class, department, or student organization on a rolling basis. We encourage you to think creatively about how an international speaker may add new and interesting global dimensions to your curriculum next semester. Awards start at $250 for honorarium.

What Is Global Perspectives?

The Center for Global Education’s Global Perspectives programming series offers Tulane faculty and students the opportunity to coordinate virtual curriculum enhancements and/or co-curricular cultural engagement through Tulane’s international partners. Global Perspectives virtual events are important, timely, interdisciplinary topics that help us contemplate new ways to imagine the world and our place within it. These events are aimed at enriching in-person classroom content and campus co-curricular activities with diverse global perspectives.

We welcome faculty and student collaboration on proposals for Global Perspectives programming. To set up an appointment to discuss pathways to connect international education to your class, department, or student organization, please email Annie Gibson, Director of Study Abroad, agibson3@tulane.edu.

Examples of potential opportunities may include:

  • Virtual site visits or experiential learning activities
  • Guest lectures and interviews with international scholars, community activists, business leaders
  • Language exchanges or cross-cultural discussions with students from a non-US institution

The NTC Office of Study abroad can also provide recommendations of approved Tulane study abroad programs in our portfolio where students can deepen their knowledge of the topic.

Examples of past Global Perspectives collaborations can be found HERE.

Rolling application review until funds run out (please allow ample time for preparation and promotion of the event)

The Center for Global Education can provide funding for a speaker, flyers and promotional materials, and can coordinate staffing, event promotion, and virtual meeting room links for Global Perspectives events. By accepting funding for the event, you must agree to open the event to the general Tulane community to further international education at Tulane. If you would like to invite an in-person speaker, OSA can support you in the hybrid format.
