International student success at Tulane University begins with OISS Orientation!
It is designed to help you:
- Adjust to academic and social life at Tulane;
- Comply with government regulations pertaining to your stay in the U.S;
- Learning about on and off campus resources and support services;
- Learn how to navigate the campus;
- Become comfortable with the local community and U.S. culture; and
- Meet people and make friends from around the world.
Studies show the benefits of participating in orientation programs. Faculty members and advisors see a marked difference in the preparedness and success of students who have participated in orientation.

Online Orientation
Important information. If you are arriving in the country for the first time this academic year, you must complete OISS Online Orientation in order to complete your online iGlobal check in.
Online Orientation Deadline: before you arrive in the country.

Thursday, January 13
OISS New International Student Orientation
Time: 12:15 pm- 4:30 pm
Location: Freeman Auditorium, Woldenberg Art Complex
During OISS orientation you will get to meet the staff of the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS). They will share important immigration information. They will also explain further opportunities and resources for you to be prepared to succeed academically and socially, and learn about U.S. culture.

International Student Welcome Events
Campus Tour
Time: 9:00 am
Tour begins in front of OISS office at 6901 Willow Street.
You will have the opportunity to meet student leaders as you tour the uptown campus. Feel free to bring your schedule to look up the buildings your classes will be in.
- Please wear weather appropriate clothes and shoes.
- Water will be provided.
- Family members also welcome.
Success Workshops
Time: 1:00- 2:30 pm

OISS and orientation leaders have designed a series of Success Workshops so that you can personalize your orientation experience. Topics will include: Moving Around New Orleans Safely, On Campus Engagement, Meet a Professor and more!
Connect Fest Social and Resource Fair
Time: 2:30- 4:00 PM
Location: Devlin Fieldhouse
You are invited to come learn about many off-campus and on-campus resources to support you during your stay at Tulane University. Meet with other students and staff, learn about student groups and resources. If your student is still looking for a roommate, you will have the chance to meet others who are in the same situation. Snacks and festive environment included.
