Ilana Aaquil
Biography
Ilana Aaquil attended Howard University (‘21) and studied Spanish and International Affairs. During high school, she interned abroad at a cultural heritage museum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Through her university, she attended a summer study abroad program in Egypt, where she visited many historic sites, studying Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics and its cultural intricacies. She also studied abroad in Cali, Colombia in her junior year, where she studied Sociology with a concentration in Race and Ethnicity. Ilana is an avid traveler who is motivated by her passion for languages, artistic expression, social justice, and cultural preservation.
As an advisor, Ilana seeks to help those who have been historically underrepresented in international travel. She believes that everyone should have equal opportunity to travel, expand their perspective, and learn more about the world they live in. She is excited to guide students through the cultural and academic exploration of what can be a monumental moment in their lives.
