Biography
Jamie was born in the Greater New Orleans area and grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana. Her interest and appreciation for learning about other cultures around the world began when she started taking French classes in elementary school. Her interest was furthered when she took Japanese classes in high school and learned about the University of New Orleans' (UNO) Japan study abroad program. While at UNO (now known as LSU New Orleans), she studied abroad for a summer in Kyoto, Japan. This experience inspired her to pursue a career in international education. After graduating from UNO, she moved to Nagoya, Japan, and taught English at the ECC Foreign Language Institute. After four years working in Japan, she returned to Louisiana. Lloyd became a certified educator and taught English language arts in middle and high schools. Having returned to the greater New Orleans area and to international education, she is eager to use her skills and experiences to help students achieve their dreams of studying abroad.
