OSA Photo Contest - '22-'23

The study abroad photo contest is a great way to capture images of the place you’re in, gain a new perspective of your surroundings, bring back great memories, and the chance to win some prizes and recognition of your artwork!

Eligibility

The photo contest is open to Tulane University undergraduate students currently abroad and those who went abroad in the Summer and Fall of 2022.We welcome participants from Tulane University-sponsored programs as well as non-Tulane programs. “Study abroad” also includes international employment and/or internships, as well as work-study programs. However, it does not include private, interim travel.

Subject Matter:

The only restriction is that your photo or photos capture an experience or scene from abroad, it is not limited to your program site/city (A student studying abroad in Spain, could still submit a photo from a trip to France, for example). The only other requirement for the contest is for the People and Portraits category. Students must ask for permission before taking a picture of the subject, and photographs of children will not be accepted. There are no other restrictions or requirements, but the Office of Study Abroad encourages students to capture locally characteristic scenes and portraits that encapsulate the place in which they are studying.

Submission Process and Deadline:

If you meet the eligibility requirements, you may submit up to one photograph per category. Please submit photos to our online forum along with a caption.

  • Your photo should not portray the country or its’ people in a negative light or highlight harmful stereotypes.
